TNC PE Teacher, Coach Tisdale brought her A-game to the court during the teachers versus students game that served as a special culmination to the basketball unit they were studying.

Coach T knows her way around a basketball court! From 2004 to 2008, she played for Baylor University, and in 2005, helped the team win the national championship as the Point Guard. After graduating, Coach T was drafted to the Chicago Sky in the WNBA in 2008. Her basketball journey didn’t stop there—she also played in Germany, Turkey, Israel, Poland, and Bulgaria. In 2012, Coach T took on a new challenge by joining the Army, where she served until 2023. Now, she’s sharing her knowledge and experience as a teacher at TNC.

For me coaching these very specialized children means everything to me. Basketball was my outlet when I was going through a tough time in my life. Sometimes kids just need an outlet to release anything bottled up inside of them. When they are inside my gym, I create a safe place of trust and believing in themselves but at the same time I hold them accountable for their actions. – Coach T

“Seeing the smiles on all the kids faces is a takeaway that I will cherish.” Coach T added. “To the people watching it was just a basketball game. To the kids playing it was everything. Some of them will never experience playing on a high school basketball team. But they will always have the memory of playing in a TNC basketball game.”
