UT Charter campus at SJRC Touchstone in Bulverde celebrated the opening of their new Harvey E. Najim Education Center on July 30 with a ribbon-cutting event and tours of the new building.
Their project, which started in 2019 as a dream to provide the children they serve with a better learning environment, is now realized as a state-of-the-art facility with classrooms, educator offices and a therapy room as well as a bright and spacious multipurpose cafeteria/gym.
At the event, SJRC Executive Director Tara Roussett thanked all of their partners and funders who came together to complete this project for the children in their care including Harvey Najim who also spoke about his work with SJRC and his desire to help children and families in crisis.
One of the speakers at the event was UT Charter School student Kayleigh. In addition to thanking the SJRC staff, she also praised her teachers: “UT Charter teachers do their best to accommodate our needs. The accommodations provided by UT Charter School have helped me to catch up to my grade level over the past school year.”
SJRC Texas is a residential facility located in the beautiful Hill Country that cares for children and families who have been affected by trauma, abuse and neglect. UT Charter and SJRC Texas have been partners since 2018.
